About Caviar Julian

Caviar Julian is an independent caviar merchant delivering responsibly farmed sturgeon roe throughout the United Kingdom. The business exists to make buying caviar straightforward, transparent, and supported by direct human advice.

Customers can order online with confidence, but they can also speak directly for guidance on selecting the right caviar for their occasion and budget. Whether choosing for a private dinner, a gift, or a larger gathering, advice is available to remove uncertainty and ensure the purchase feels considered rather than speculative.

Judgement is favoured over range, relationships over volume, and long-term reliability over novelty.

All caviar is sourced from trusted aquaculture partners in Europe and Asia, selected for welfare standards, water quality, disciplined cold chain handling, and consistent grading.

Caviar Julian presents caviar as it is best enjoyed: as a regular pleasure, and without unnecessary ceremony.

About Julian

Caviar Julian was founded by Julian Pryke, a former fishmonger with hands-on experience in sourcing, grading, and preparing premium seafood. Years working directly with seafood developed a practical understanding of freshness, texture, handling, and quality control — knowledge that now informs every caviar selection offered.

Julian has delivered numerous presentations on both oysters and caviar, translating technical detail into accessible guidance for private clients and audiences alike. His approach remains measured, clear, and practical.

Julian is a Guinness World Record holder for gutting the most mackerel in one hour, 362, an achievement captured on TV show Guinness World Records Smashed.

Sustainability

For the time being our white bags are ethically sourced from sustainable forests, which we hope to extend into our other means of packaging.

Paper bags have a long history as a reliable packaging option for us and offer an eco-friendly alternative to plastic. Contrary to plastic bags, these products can be sent to recycling plants rather than landfills, where the material can be easily reused.

We also use biodegradable bubble bags for packing and transportation of our more delicate items.

Most of our orders are delivered in poly boxes and cardboard boxes, that we have recycled in house.
